About Us
Dean Gaylord had visions of owning his own business. Using money his
wife Wanda had saved for a trip to Hawaii, the first backhoe was purchased
and appropriately named Aloha.
Utilizing part time employees, Dean performed excavating and backhoe
work in and around the Fort Madison, Iowa area. It wasn’t long
before the local telephone company, Northwestern Bell began to notice
the quality work, as well as the ethics within the company.
Building on the reputation his father had achieved, Sam Gaylord, the
2nd generation, envisioned becoming a motivating force in the industry.
Today, Gaylord Construction has the means, manpower and experience to
complete all aspects of rural and urban utility construction in any and
all environments. We have personnel to install direct buried, underground
and aerial fiber optic cable as well as inside plant applications.
Our services include directional drilling, trenching, plowing, rock sawing
and boring. With our employees, we offer an experienced team to custom
fit any project and provide QUALITY work.
